I am a qualified teacher and have been teaching in Primary school settings in Surrey & West Sussex for the past 19 years. I work for West Sussex CC as a Special Needs Coordinator and Assistant Head for Inclusion on a part-time basis.
This supports my work as an Assessor and ensures my recommendations are realistic, practical and possible within the learner's education setting.
Having completed my Specialist Teaching qualification in SpLD- Dyslexia, I now weave the knowlege and fundamental principles learnt into my teaching and senior leadership role.
Along with my own personal journey with Dyslexia as a mother, my passion is to help learners understand more about their learning profile, focusing on their strengths.
I firmly believe each learner's strengths can be used to build on, support and scaffold, the areas of challenge - thereby enhancing self-esteem, which is so vital for well-being and progress to be made.
My Qualifications:
I offer face-to-face assessments, rather than online, with learners for them to make them feel more comfortable and relaxed in what could otherwise be a daunting situation.
The assessment space is within my home; in a garden office area set up for these assessments. The space is light, airy and fully heated with a sofa area as well as a table to undertake the assessmnet at.
The aim is to make the learner feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible so they can display thir true potential.
A separate space area is provided for the parent to wait for the duration of the assessment, if needed, or I am happy for you to wait off site and return for the break or the end of the assessment.
