As a Level 7 dyslexia specialist assessor, my role involves comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of dyslexia in individuals from seven years up to sixteen.
With a deep understanding of education based on experience as a teacher, senior leader, mother, specialist dyslexia teacher and assessor, my intention is for individuals to understand themselves and reach their true potential.
I create a relaxed environment to assess a range of cognitive and academic skills to create personalised recommendations and strategies that promote literacy development and enhance wider learning skills.
My commitment to continual professional development and investment into current research, ensures that each report is given care and thought into strategies needed for cognitive and academic success.
Having an assessment which focusses on skills you may find challenging can be a daunting thought. I aim to create a personable, friendly and comfortable environment in which the learner can show their underpining strengths and understand their areas of challenge.
The assessment space is located in Surrey on the border of West Sussex, very close to bus routes and Horley train station.
Plenty of street parking is availble.
Assessments take place at the learners pace with breaks between assessments where necessary.
A full written report will follow all full assessments whether a diagnosis is given or not. Either way, the same thorough process and thought will be followed for both outcomes.
A more detailed personal feedback can be added on to understand the report and recommendations and allow questions to be raised.
"We are so grateful that it was you that supported Sophie through her assessment Han, and we can’t thank you enough for making time for us so quickly. Sophie really struggles to focus, even for short periods of time, and you knew exactly how to make her feel comfortable and even enjoy the assessment.
You are always so professional and positive and you really helped us to understand Sophie’s strengths, needs and next steps. Your report was excellent and your advice meant we could support her immediately. You made us feel like we can really make a difference to her learning with your specific and detailed suggestions. Thank you for suggesting so many useful books and resources to support our understanding of dyslexia - it helped me understand and appreciate how much harder Sophie has to work. We feel like a weight has been lifted and we can now see a way forward. You are fantastic!"

"This report is so thorough and excellent, thank you! I will share with the school and GP and also arrange discussions with the school to ensure the implementation of your recommendations.
It feels so good to have Amy's clear amazing strengths acknowledged with the understanding of the significant barriers she has!
Thank you"
